Marianna de Almeida Debelian

Marianna is the Office Manager & Assistant to Founder & Executive Chair, Dr. Gunhild Stordalen. 

Marianna’s professional background is in culinary arts and political activism in the field of food and agriculture. Prior to joining EAT in October 2020 she served as the deputy leader of the youth organization, Spire. During her time at Spire, Marianna has written numerous political op-eds, contributed to publications covering novel food and agriculture policies and co-written a 5-year organizational and political strategy. She also played an active role in several political campaigns and worked with small-scale farmers and fisherfolk in Norway to map out challenges and solutions in the fishing and agricultural industry. 

Marianna has served on a number of boards, including the GMO network in Norway, the food systems advisory board of The Norwegian Forum for Development and Environment, Slow Food Network Oslo and the Norwegian initiative, Ta havet tilbake og jorda i bruk. She also played an active role in the global 4per1000 initiative. 

Marianna holds a Master in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oslo and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Social Anthropology from the University of East Anglia. She is currently training to become a certified chef. Marianna is a Norwegian and Brazilian national.
