Dr. Wen-Harn Pan is a Professor in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. She is also the Director for Division of Preventive Medicine and Health Services Research in National Health Research Institutes, Taiwan. Dr. Pan was the Director of Institute of Population Sciences of National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan. She has established a community-based cardiovascular cohort study in Chu-Dong and Putze since 1989 and also led the National Nutrition and Health Survey in Taiwan since 1992. She also established the Taiwan Han Chinese DNA and Genome Bank and AS multicenter young onset hypertension cohort. Dr. Pan currently engages in food-disease metabolomics research, dietary therapy for geriatric diseases, and worksite health promotion programs. She has been awarded the Distinguished Research Scholar by Nutrition Society of Taiwan, Lifetime Achievement Award by APCNS, and the Distinguished S&T Contribution Award by Taiwan General. She earned her PhD in Nutrition and Epidemiology in Cornell University.
